Echinacea purpurea ‘Magnus’ – Cone Flower

This particular cultivar of coneflower won perennial of the year in 1998. They are known for being easy to grow. The large, rose pink, daisy-like flowers sit at a height of 3′. The cone of seeds at the center of the flower starts off a coppery orange color and darkens to black as the seeds mature. Look for the blooms from July through September. Plant 18″ apart.
