Yellow tubular flowers trail along fences and trellises starting in May and persisting through the summer. This mid-Atlantic native is named after the colonial botanist John Clayton and was discovered in a churchyard in the 17th century. This semi-evergreen should have dead flowers cut regularly. Plant 5′ apart.
